Big Nick’s has been a neighborhood mainstay for hungry Upper West Siders since 1962. Owner Jimmy Galanopoulos certainly knows how to keep his customers full and happy. Even though the restaurant has always been known for its large portions and reasonable prices, it’s the food itself that truly stands out. By using only freshest ingredients and no preservatives, Big Nick’s serves some of the best pizzas, burgers and Greek specialties in New York. With thirty-three toppings, and four styles of crust (including a healthy whole wheat with low-fat cheese and a thick Sicilian pie), there is certainly something for everyone; or try their famous avocado burger, made with one hundred percent pure steer beef either in the comfort of your home or in a cozy booth at the restaurant.

Big Nick’s has even been lauded by the likes of David Letterman, the New York Daily News and Good Housekeeping for their pizza-making expertise, but that should be no surprise at all to Big Nick’s loyal customers. With a motto like “Quantity and Quality and a reasonable price,” how can you go wrong?

Quick delivery, and a delicious veggie burger (I hate it when they're mushy - this one wasn't!) with nice thick fries. My only complaint is that $1 seems excessive for adding cheese to a burger.

solid standby and classics. delivery times are on the long side

The wings and waffle fries were soggy. The stuffed spinach pizza was a huge spanakopita (which isn't what I was craving). The turkey burger only came with a patty and bread. No lettuce, no tomatoes, no pickles. Oh, and our order came with chili when we didn't order it. Mediocre to bad food. Total incompetence.

Love the pizza and fast delivery

My order came in a timely manner. The cappucino shake was pretty good. The onion rings were generic. My burger didn't come as ordered. I specified no tomatoes and I got tomatoes. It was also supposed to come with avocado and it didn't. Kind of a letdown.

Only ordered from here because it was the only burger joint open at midnight. Good God, literally the worst burger I've ever had. How do you mess up a burger that bad? How does this place stay in business?

worst penne a la vodka I have ever had

I've ordered from here in the past with no problems but an order of pancakes and a milkshake should NEVER take 85 minutes to deliver. I called 3 times and kept being told it was on the way and whoever I talked to promised to call me back after they got in touch with the delivery guy and never did. the food was cold and the milkshake was soup... never ordering from here again.

Excellent takes on timeless classics!

Really hit or miss - one night I ordered, for friends, a fantastic fried chicken dinner, garlic knots, Sicilian pizza and baklava - it was pretty late at night but the food was delicious. Ordered it last week again, this time the pasta primavera soup and a fried egg sandwich. Soup was disappointing, sandwich was incredibly poor - on two pieces of wheat bread that were soggy and limp. But good service, fast delivery.

The food took an hour and a half to get to my place 2 blocks away. When it arrived, the order was missing the garlic bread and the food was cold. Stay away!

big nick's is always awesome!! (the one on 72nd is better though)

Burgers are awesome! the pizzas are not our favorite, but they are ok. Correction: Changed my mind regarding the Burgers. They have dropped in quality. More specifically, the turkey meat came a little dry. Sometimes it's the opposite and the bread is all wet and soggy.

I mean, seriously, how can you go wrong with Big Nick's. Every time we have ordered or ate there the place provides good food for the value. Plus the folks there are nice. Go Big Nick's!

Good spices on the pizza but didn't arrive hot and was a little soggy. Milkshake was so-so

Fantastic for what it is.

Delivery took an hour. When I called them, the guy on the phone was apologetic and said it had "just left". Food was still warm when it arrived, so I guess he was telling the truth. Whole wheat pizza was, as always, perfectly mediocre. Food here is nothing amazing, but rather inexpensive and has a few interesting options. Word of warning: when I had the falafel once, it was really greasy and nasty. There are better options for that. Can't complain about the whole wheat pizza, tho. It's nice and hearty, and they balance the amount of bran so that the crust isn't too dry.

I usually order from the Big Nick's on Broadway, but thought I'd try this one because of some different menu options and the 20% discount. My gyro came drowning in tzatziki. I've never seen anything like it. I had to fish for the meat, tomatoes and lettuce, scrape half a cup full of tzatziki off, and then reassemble the sandwich. And speaking of the ingredients...there were no onions! This is an essential gyro ingredient. Also, my side salad also came in a sea of dressing. Yes I did ask for dressing mixed in, but no one needs this much dressing. And, I asked for creamy Italian, which came on the side but NOT on the salad. The dressing on the salad looked like more tzatziki. Moral of the story: stick with the original Nick's on Broadway.

This place deserves NO STARS. The chicken was deep fried beyond imagine and tasked almost rotten (I ended up throwing it away). All in all...this is worst experience I have had ordering from a restaurant on seamlessweb. This place is definitely not worth the money.

The only nice thing to say is that it was solid food. Otherwise, soggy, old, bland and tasteless. Not ordering out from this place again. FYI - tzatziki is yogurt with 2 chunks of cucumber.

Excellent burger, fast delivery, great waffle fries. What's not to like?
Posted a year ago by John M.
The good: the burger was cheap and fresh, delivery was prompt The bad: they don't give you ANY toppings with the burger (i.e. no lettuce, no onions, no tomato), the waffle fries were soggy (but better than Texas Rotisserie's), the burgers are smaller than Texas Rotisserie's. For all you burger enthusiasts out there, the bun on the burger was pretty wonderbread-like

Great burgers and very good pizza. The rest of the menu is hit or miss, but BIg Nicks really knows how do these two things well. I've never had a better burger in New York.

Pizza arrived an hour late, extremely cold, burned and looked like it had been dropped. I will NEVER order from this "joint" again.

Their veggie burger is outstanding - I recommend it with melted cheese and caramelized onions.

Very disappointing. I've eaten in the restaurant and had a great experience, but my experience with delivery was sub par. The delivery took an hour and a half and the food was cold and not edible. Even when the pizza was re-heated, it was just bad.

Quick delivery! 3 different burgers 3 different temperatures and all were PERFECT!!
